General
What is Nimble Station?+
Nimble Station is a network of secure, electronic Stations in convenient community locations. The app connects each transaction to the Station so people and businesses can exchange physical goods without coordinating an in-person meeting.
How does it actually work?+
Nimble Station lets people exchange, buy, sell, or store physical items without having to meet at the same time. One person places the item in a Station, the app tracks the transaction and provides the needed codes, and the right person retrieves it later.
Why do you call them Stations instead of lockers?+
The locker is the physical equipment. A Station is part of the Nimble Station network. The app and the Station work together to connect the person putting an item in with the right person taking it out.
Is it safe?+
Your item is placed inside an electronic Station, and the transaction is tied to the right user codes in the app. Every drop-off and pickup is tracked, so the item moves from the person who left it to the intended recipient without an in-person handoff.
Where are the Stations?+
The Nimble Station app shows the Stations available for your transaction. You choose the locations that are convenient for you, and the app uses those preferences when matching buying, selling, User-to-User, and storage activity.
What size items fit in a Station?+
Our Stations have four locker sizes. These are the inside measurements, height × width × depth:
Small: 3″ × 13″ × 24″ (flat items like documents, books, and phone accessories)
Medium: 8″ × 13″ × 24″ (shoes, small electronics, and kitchen items)
Large: 18″ × 13″ × 24″ (small appliances, toys, and folded clothing)
Large Plus: 22″ × 14″ × 24″ (the biggest space, for bulkier items)
When you drop off, you choose the size you need right at the Station. If it fits with the door closed, you're good to go.
What does it cost?+
Each Station use is priced by locker size: $1.99 Small, $2.99 Medium, $3.99 Large, with the first 2 hours included. Items left longer are charged by the hour. Every charge is shown in the app before you pay, and prices are subject to change.
If you're buying an item, the Seller's listed price is separate from any Nimble Station fee.
Buying and Selling
How do I buy something through Nimble Station?+
Sellers list items with the price already set and choose the Stations and payment methods they're willing to use. Buyers choose the Stations and payment methods that work for them. When those line up, you can purchase the item, the Seller drops it at a Station, and you pick it up when it's convenient.
Do I need to message the Seller first?+
No. The important details are already in the listing: whether the item is available, the price, accepted payment methods, and compatible Station locations. You don't need to message anyone for a normal purchase.
Can I negotiate the price?+
Nimble Station is built around the Seller's listed price rather than in-app negotiation. The price is set before the Buyer chooses to purchase.
How do payment methods work?+
Sellers choose the payment methods they accept, and Buyers choose the ones they use. The app brings compatible choices together, so you know how the Seller can be paid before you buy.
Does Nimble Station process the payment between Buyer and Seller?+
No. The Buyer pays the Seller using one of the Seller's accepted payment methods. The app guides the transaction and can capture proof of payment, while the payment itself goes through the payment service you choose.
Why do I upload proof of payment?+
Proof of payment gives the Seller a record to review before confirming that payment was received and moving on to drop-off.
What happens after the Seller confirms my payment?+
The Seller is prompted to drop off the item. Once it's deposited, you're notified that your item is ready for pickup.
What if I don't like what I bought?+
If you open the Station and decide not to accept the item, use the decline option in the pickup flow and follow the prompts. The item stays tied to the transaction so the Seller can retrieve it. If the Seller offers refunds, you can request one after declining.
How do refunds work after I decline an item?+
If the Seller offers refunds, the Seller retrieves the declined item first and then issues the refund. Once the Buyer confirms the refund was received, the transaction moves to review and completion.
What if the Seller doesn't offer refunds?+
The app provides a reporting and review path for declined transactions when a refund isn't available. The Seller is still responsible for retrieving the declined item from the Station.
Can a Seller require a minimum purchase amount?+
Yes. A Seller may set a minimum purchase amount, and the Buyer must meet it before checkout can be completed.
What happens if a Buyer never picks up their item?+
We'll keep sending pickup reminders. If the item stays in the Station into the next billing cycle, any applicable Station-use charges continue as normal. If those charges go unpaid, we'll send one warning a day for three days before the account is blocked. If the item remains abandoned, the Station operator may recover it.
Drop Off and Pickup
How does drop off work?+
Go to the Station, scan your Account Code, continue to the Drop Off Code, review the available locker sizes, choose the size you need, place the item inside, close the door, and wait for confirmation before leaving.
What code do I scan when dropping something off?+
Follow the drop-off flow in the app. First scan your Account Code, then continue and scan the Drop Off Code for the transaction.
What code do I scan when picking something up?+
Use the Pickup Code shown in the app for the item or transaction you're retrieving.
What if the Station says the locker was closed without an item?+
Choose Open Again, reposition the item so it's in the path of the locker's side sensors, then close the door and wait for confirmation before leaving.
Can I change the Station before I finish a drop off?+
Yes. Use the change-location option before completing the deposit, then continue at the Station you actually use. That way the Buyer or Recipient is sent to the right pickup location.
User-to-User
What is a User-to-User transaction?+
User-to-User lets one person leave an item for another person to retrieve later. Nimble Station becomes the meeting place, so the Depositor and Recipient don't have to coordinate schedules or be at the Station at the same time.
Is there a payment for a User-to-User transaction?+
No. User-to-User is a no-payment handoff, great for returning a borrowed tool, leaving something for a family member, or getting forgotten belongings back to someone. Normal Station-use fees still apply.
How does the Recipient know the item is ready?+
After the item is deposited, the Recipient is notified that it's ready for pickup and can use the pickup information in the app to retrieve it.
I'm dropping off for another user. What if they don't want the item or don't pick it up?+
You can pick it up yourself using the Item Pickup Code, which is visible to both you (as the Depositor) and the Recipient.
We need to cancel a User-to-User drop off. How do we do that?+
The Recipient goes to their Orders, finds the item, starts the pickup, and selects Decline when the Pickup Code is shown. The Depositor then gets a Pickup Code to retrieve the item.
Can I change the Station during a User-to-User transaction?+
Yes. Change the location before completing the deposit, then use the Station where the item is actually placed so the Recipient is sent to the right place.
Store My Stuff
What is Store My Stuff?+
Store My Stuff lets you use a Nimble Station as temporary storage for your own item. Place it in a Station, go about your day, and come back for it when it's convenient.
When might I use Store My Stuff?+
Any time you're carrying something you don't want to take with you for part of the day, like while visiting an attraction, attending an event, or moving around town.
How do I store an item?+
Start Store My Stuff in the app, go to an available Station, scan your Account Code and Drop Off Code, select an available locker size, place the item inside, close the door, and wait for confirmation.
How do I retrieve something I stored?+
Open the stored-item transaction in the app, choose the pickup option, and use the Pickup Code shown for that item.
How long can I leave an item in Store My Stuff?+
Store My Stuff isn't subject to the normal Buyer and Seller pickup window. Your item stays tied to your Store My Stuff transaction until you retrieve it, subject to our Terms, Station availability, and the hourly rate after the first 2 hours.
Is Store My Stuff a purchase or sale?+
No. There's no Buyer and Seller exchanging payment. You're both the Depositor and the Recipient of your own item.
Business
Can local businesses sell through Nimble Station?+
Yes. Participating local retailers can make products available through Nimble Station, so customers can buy locally and pick up from a convenient Station.
Why would a customer pick up a business purchase at a Station?+
A Station lets customers pick up a purchase without planning their day around store hours or waiting on home delivery. They grab it when it works for them.
How do I set up a business account?+
Use the standard Seller account setup, but with your business phone number, email, and (if applicable) logo. For now there's one account per business location. We're developing business user roles (Owner, General Manager, Listing Manager, Drop Off Manager, and more) to better serve our business customers.
Is there a “vacation” setting or a way to hide my listings while I take a break?+
Yes. Go to your Drop Off Location Preferences and deselect all locations. This makes your listings invisible in the marketplace. Note that it also turns off your ability to receive User-to-User exchanges, and it turns off Store My Stuff.
Seller
What happens after I confirm payment was received?+
The next step is drop off. Once you deposit the item, the Buyer is notified that it's ready for pickup.
Who chooses the pickup location?+
The Buyer sees Stations that match your preferences, but the final pickup location is the Station where you actually deposit the item. That way the Buyer is always sent to the right place.
What happens if the Buyer declines my item?+
The item stays tied to the transaction so you can retrieve it. If your refund policy applies, retrieve the item first and then issue the refund through the transaction flow.
Want to keep User-to-User and Store My Stuff but pause selling? Go to each item you have listed for sale and deselect all locations for that item. Do this for every Active listing. Your Active items become invisible in the marketplace while you keep using the app for everything else.
